The Problem

The Hidden Waste Of BeautyThe beauty industry produces thousands of kilos of waste each year including hair, foil, colour, plastics, and paper that mostly end up in a landfill, illegal dumping sites, burned in open air or dumped in the river. Excess hair colour poured down the drain pollutes waterways, and used foils take decades to break down. Bali is paying the price for beauty that isn’t yet circular.

The Solution

Making Beauty CircularEvery strand of hair, piece of foil and drop of colour has value. Hair can be composted using new methodologies, colour can processed safely, and everyday salon materials can circle back into the economy. Beauty doesn’t have to harm the island, it can help restore it.
