Circular Salons is on a mission to transform Bali’s beauty industry into a force for good by collecting, recycling, and repurposing salon waste .

The Hidden Waste Of BeautyThe beauty industry produces thousands of kilos of waste each year including hair, foil, colour, plastics, and paper that mostly end up in landfills. Excess hair colour poured down the drain pollutes waterways, and used foils take decades to break down. Bali is paying the price for beauty that isn’t yet circular.
Making Beauty CircularEvery strand of hair, piece of foil and drop of colour has value. Hair can soak up oil from polluted coastlines, leftover colour can be turned into clean energy, and everyday salon materials can circle back into the economy. Beauty doesn’t have to harm the island, it can help restore it.

Nearly all the waste in Bali is not recycled. It's either sent to landfills or ends up in illegal dumping sites, burned in open areas, or washed into waterways.
Tons of waste is produced daily in touristic areas like Badung, Denpasar and Ubud.
Very little of the total waste produced is actually recycled or repurposed into new products.
